Motivate Yourself
Winners never quit and quitters never win. The battle is never lost until you've abandon your vision. Let's say
if you've achieved a particular task, you'll treat yourself to your favorite restaurant. Exercise regularly. Take regular breaks if
time allows. Never, ever ignore your health.
It's so difficult to go on when everything seems to fail, isn't it? Are there times in
your personal energy when you actually want to call it "quits" because you just can't see any good results from all the hard work you've
done?
Hold your horses!
Never ever think of giving up. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Take all negative words out of your mental dictionary
and focus on the solutions with utmost conviction and patience. The battle is never lost until you've abandon your vision. But what if
you're really exhausted physically, mentally, and most of all emotionally? Here are some sources of motivation to prompt you in reaching
the peak of accomplishment.
1) The Overwhelming Feeling of Attaining your
Desired End
How would you feel after accomplishing your mission? Of course you will feel ecstatic. You might be shedding tears of joy.
Let this tremendous feeling sink in and encourage you to persist despite all odds.
When I was studying for the Board Exams, I used this technique to bring me. I would envision the sweetness of folks calling me a
CPA. It would command respect. People will look up to me as a higher level of authority. And I would have better chances of
finding a good job. I absorbed all these great perceptions into my inner being in order to achieve my ultimate goal.
2 ) The Reward System
How would you feel if you've joined a contest, but there are no prizes for the winners? It's not very encouraging, isn't it?
The same principles apply to your vision. Reward yourself after accomplishing a
goal. Set an exact incentive for every objective.
Let's say if you've achieved a particular task, you'll treat yourself to your favorite restaurant. When you've finished a bigger task,
you'll go on a vacation.
Got the idea?
Just set something gratifying to indulge in after completing a clear undertaking.
3 ) The Powerful Force of Humanity
If you definitely hope to succeed, surround yourself with the right kind of people who will support and encourage you all the way.
Be with people who have the same beliefs and aspirations as yours. Positive aura is generated by this fusion of collective energy from
people of "like minds."
On the contrary, being with people who oppose your ways of thinking may start a negative, yet very powerful, kind of motivation.
Has anyone ever said to you that "You'll never get anywhere" or "You're weakening your time with what you're doing?"
Didn't it made you furious and determined enough to prove to them how wrong they were? This is what I'm talking about.
When aggravated, you will do anything to make those who are against you swallow their words. But of course, your main focus should be on
the accomplishment of your goal and not for the purpose of revenge. Never let your emotions toward others alter your main objective.
4 ) Take Care Of Your Health
Exercise regularly. Fill your brains with enough oxygen to allow you to do your daily tasks with more vigor and energy.
Take regular breaks if present moment allows. Having the will power to continue despite all hardships is highly important, but you
should still know your limits.
If you don't take adequate rest, you will not be able to think clearly and you will not be able to do your tasks correctly. In the process,
you will just get more frustrated.
Take sufficient sleep and recharge yourself after a hard day's work. Never, ever ignore your health. I've learned my lesson when I
sacrificed my health for the sake of success. I've worked very extended hours everyday and just got minimal sleep. As a result, I
became ill.
It's not worth it. Success won't matter if you don't have good health to enjoy it. Fire up your motivation and live life to the
fullest.

Open Question: How do you motivate yourself to study?
Its just that I find it so incredibly tedious to get myself to study...its almost unbearable. There's always something better to do, and people to hang out with, so I force myself to go to the library. Then when I get there, I still seem unfocused and Ill text or start doodling instead of getting anything accomplished. Maybe its just that I'm not finding any of my subjects interesting, or that I haven't decided on a major yet but I'm desperate to make myself crack down and study!! Maybe college just isn't for me, but my parents want me to get a 4 year degree and I think they're right, its important to have one. Anyways I'm wondering, how you people get the motivation to study?!

Open Question: What Motivates You More To Lose Weight?
Do you think putting up a picture of a Fat person ( or yourself that you dont like....assuming the person is overweight)
Or
Putting up a picture of someone with a nice body, like an idol, supermodel, or just what you want your body to look like.
Which works better to motivate if you put the picture in places you look at like the kitchen ( where you choose what to eat) and your room???
Open Question: What motivates you to exercise?
I'm making over my life and one of them is fitness. But when ever I work out, once I start seeing results (usually after a couple of weeks), I stop. So, I need an incentive to keep myself motivated.
As I am in the process of happily changing my wardrobe (another one of my changes), I'm thinking of using that and money as my motivation as I get really excited buying clothing that actually looks good on me by spending that bit extra. Currently, I have thought that for every day that I work out, I add $5 to the 'account'. So for a month of working out, I could possibly 'earn' $140 to spend on clothing and/or accessories to buy to show off my better figure. Then, if I reach any of my short or long term goals, I get a 'bonus' to spend - the harder the goal, the higher the 'bonus'.
But as no motivation has really worked for me so far, I'm hoping that this could be the thing I need. I've tried using long term goal such as competition results to get me to nationals to motivate me, but I then tend to leave the training to a couple of weeks beforehand and therefore get no where.
What are some techniques that you use to motivate yourself??

ATTICUS THE MOCKINGBIRD
Mockingbirds are peaceful animals that sing their hearts out for the enjoyment of people to hear. Atticus Finch also sings a song but a song that captivates the hearts of those around him. He sings a song of justice, respect, and love. A harmony that expresses the type of person he is and is known to many individuals. He has proven that in harsh situations it doesn?t mean you should give up on what you have worked so hard on but never loose faith in yourself and in others.
Atticus made it his duty to convey his message of justice to society. He took a severe path that could have ended him up on loosing everything he earned for, as his respect from society and the harsh consequences that will come from defending a Negro. However Atticus took the case and did his job proudly which was defending Tom Robinson with all of his ability. As Harper Lee stated in the novel Atticus informs us that he knew in some way that he might not win the case, but it didn?t mean anything to him, he kept on fighting for what he believed in and never lost hope on justice. Atticus's strong sense of morality and justice motivates him to defend Tom Robinson with determination, and giving it all he has got. He shows this when he says, "Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try and win" (Lee, pg 76). The speech that Atticus had recited to the whole courtroom revealed his power of determination and confidence. He pleaded to the jury that all men are equal, no matter what skin color they have ?You know the truth, the truth is this: some Negroes lie, some Negroes are immoral, some Negro men cannot be trusted around women, black or white. But this is a truth that applies to the human race and to no particular race of men?.? (Lee, pg 204). He was trying to explain that not all Negroes are immoral, that the public shouldn?t assume incorrect rumours, we are all human, we do wrong, and there isn?t one human being out there who is perfect. Atticus remains the same person throughout the story; he doesn?t change his character from the public he remains true to himself and to those around him ?Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is in the public streets? (Lee, pg 89). He keeps everything open and not hidden from anyone ?Best way to clear the air is to have it all out in the open air? (Lee, pg 273) Atticus?s whole life is based on doing what is right, on his integrity. Such as the time when Jem and Scout were attacked by Bob Ewell, Atticus thought that Jem killed Mr. Ewell. He wouldn?t even bend the law to protect his son from being charged with a crime or even worse murder, if it ended up in that predicament. He would have then done everything the law would allow him to do to defend his son as his lawyer. Atticus was extremely honest and law-abiding; he?s a man who would try to regain justice to any situation that he encounters.
Respect is giving to you when you treat others the way you want to be treated. To accept them the way they are in any form, to be humble, honest, and considerate regarding to their feelings, to not be self-centered. Respect is shown and expressed in many different ways; Atticus showed respect by not stooping down to Bob Ewell?s level of shame. Atticus never fought back, he never argued, or physically harmed him in any way. Atticus only showed him sympathy and pity; he was very polite to him even though Bob Ewell showed no respect in return ?Mr. Ewell approached him, cursed him, spat on him and threatened to kill him? (Lee, page 217) & ?[He] stood there and let Mr. Ewell call him names? (Lee, page 217). This proved that Atticus was the bigger man, even though he was angry he never made his rage take over him, he was in total control of his actions. Unlike others in the community Atticus tries to look at everyone as an individual even those who are outcast by their society. Including Boo Radley, the black community, and those of poor community, he only sees the good in everyone and is committed to making his children feel the same way he does. He?s very proud of his job and he doesn?t care what other people think or say. Attics wants to keep his dignity and respect from the town if he backed down from the case, he would lose it ??if I didn?t I couldn?t hold my head up in town, I couldn?t represent this country in the Legislature, I couldn?t even tell you or Jem not to do something again? (Lee, pg 75). He treats everyone fairly, and talks to anyone kindly when he encounters them. He becomes friends with anyone no matter where they came from or what race they are, Atticus doesn?t care about those features that people say crudely about; he?s a person who only looks
in your inner soul, the type of person you are and portray to others ?I do my best to love everybody? (Lee, pg 112). Atticus never judges anybody?s financial situation or the way they live, he accepts all human beings ?Never judge anyone, until you have been in their shoes, and walked around them? (Lee, pg 279) Wise words, from a wise man. He?s informing us that you never know how a person feels or has been going through until you experienced it for yourself.
Atticus cares and loves his children very much and would do absolutely anything for them. Even though he?s a single parent and very busy with work on defending Tom Robinson, he still spares time for his kids. He shows affection to scout by reading her to bed every night; he makes a promise to her on keeping their reading a secret from her teacher. Reading is a connection they have to each other; it?s something precious to them that they do to spend time together ?If you?ll concede the necessity of going to school, we?ll go on reading every night just as we always have? (Lee, pg 31) He feels that education is a important necessity and value in life that you need. Atticus never abused his children; he?s a father that disagrees with the idea of physically harming a child, his
strategy of parenting is to have a common ground of agreement, to have communication between the child. Atticus is a father who has never laid a hand on his kids and never will; he also doesn?t drink and never needs to ?Atticus ain?t ever whipped me since I can remember. I wanta keep it that way? (Lee, pg 56). Atticus shows his love towards his children by trusting in them, having faith in their decisions that they choose. He gives his children independence; he doesn?t trap them or keep them from the world, he gives them freedom ?We?ve been goin to town by ourselves since we were this high? (Lee, pg 101).
Throughout the story we?ve learned lots of lessons that Atticus has taught to his kids, one of them would be about courage. Courage is an ability to be confident in yourself, to be able to accomplish any goal you set. For insistence courage in this situation would be when Mrs. Dubose needed a distraction for her mind to stop her erg of taking pain killers. She was a Morphine Addict; her only request before she dies was to be free from her addiction. That?s why she portrays courage and that?s what Atticus wanted to show Jem that strength and courage can come from anywhere but true courage is when you stick it through no matter what ?I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It?s when you know you?re licked before you begin anyway and you see it through, no matter what? (Lee, pg 112). There?s also another valuable lesson Atticus teaches to his children and that would be ?shoot all the blue jays that you want, but
, but remember it?s a sin to kill a mockingbird? (Lee, pg 90). This lesson is to tell them that shooting things is not good, but rather that there are some things that are living peacefully and have a purpose on earth.
Overall Atticus portrayed a human being who isn?t tempted or is influenced by the evilness of this world; he truly resembles the character of the mockingbird even though he?s a Finch he?s a bird who?s majestic, a bird that spreads his wings out and reaches the hearts of those around him. He sang his song of justice, respect, and love; he showed that in this corrupted world there are still people who haven?t given up hope on their dreams and on you. That no matter what happens or what trouble you encounter you can still count on those who will always be there for you, no matter what.
I'll give you 5 POINTS if you check it
