Drills, skills and strategy preferable in this order - are needed in winning any match. For this article, the sport in focus is table tennis and it is good to start off with drills for service. Service can win matches in table tennis for as long as you keep hitting good serves and your opponent cannot make a legal return then you keep scoring. It is essential then that service practice should be a part of the daily drills of a table tennis player.

The drills last for hours and at least two hours should be devoted to practicing service. During the service drill, a player can vary the height of the serve as well as the placements and speeds. Once a player masters the art of serving then he is halfway to winning the match.

For quickness, laps around the table can do some help since it is the same area where the player will be running around during the match. The laps around the table build familiarity of the play area. The skill in doing chops should also be developed to make deadly legal returns and the only way to do this is to practice.
