Connect Your Home Security Camera to Your Home PC

Technology today is moving on leaps and bounds and as a result, there are state of the art security systems now available for use in the home. Not only this, but it is possible to install these systems on your own, without employing an electrician or getting an expert in to finish the job.  One of the most recent additions to the home security market is the PC home security camera system. This connects directly to your home computer allowing you to look at what is going on around you in either your home or your business.

Some of the most popular (and cheapest) models on the market plug straight you’re your computer by the USB port and therefore do not need a separate source of power. They draw the power from the USB port and are connected through wireless adapters, which are also used in conjunction with wireless keyboards and mice.  The other big advantage is that you don’t need a separate monitor because you can view everything from your computer and saved onto your computer’s hard drive. If you find that more space is required, you can buy an external hard drive or extra memory cards.

You Can Access Your Video from any Location

Connect Your Home Security Camera to Your Home PC It is now possible to add an application onto your work computer which will allow you to access your home computer from literally anywhere in the world.  This is particularly useful if you want to check up on you security situation at home. All you have to do is log on remotely and you can see what’s going on at any time of day.

Saying this, it is however illegal to use a camera as a baby-sitter and you must have a responsible person at home with your children. It is not good enough to simply keep an eye on them with your new camera.

However, what they are perfect for is keeping an eye on your house while you’re away and letting you know if anything untoward is going on. They can offer overwhelming proof of a person’s guilt or innocence if an intruder is caught in your house. You should always make a video of this footage as you will find that the evidence is usually allowed in court and can condemn the person who broke into your house.
