Tourism brings a great deal of money to the area of Puerto Rico with more than five million people traveling to this island each year. Most of the visitors are from the United States but people from all over the world enjoy the tropical paradise. Aside from Americans, Puerto Rico is a popular destination of tourists coming from Asia, France, Mexico and Spain. Cruise ships bring one third of these tourists to Puerto Rico. Some of the biggest cruise ship operators include Puerto Rico as one of its ports of call.

There are many reasons why Puerto Rico is a popular tourist attraction. The culture is very diverse and the natural environment provides beautiful scenery. The history and the tropical design make the island of Puerto Rico very inviting. Puerto Rico is also a popular place for concerts and many sporting events all throughout the year.

The main airport providing transportation to and from Puerto Rico is the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. There are also some small airports that you can use as well. The economy is doing well in Puerto Rico due to the amount of tourism it receives each year. People enjoy going because of all that the area has to offer.
