Semi-Automatic and Fully Automatic Paintball Guns

Because different paintball gun parks have different rules, there are a variety of paintball guns that you can purchase. Some paintball guns are semi-automatic and some are fully automatic. These types of paintball guns have different features that make playing the game more enjoyable.  

Automatic paintball guns provide anyone who loves this activity a unique advantage over opponents during a game because automatic paintball guns have the ability to fire several, rapid shots at an opponent in just a matter of seconds. An automatic paintball gun is able to send out as many as three shots with only one pull of the trigger. The fire rate can be adjusted also so that you can shoot a set number of balls per second. This feature of automatic paintball guns is often a factor in winning or losing a paintball gun match.

Semi-automatic paintball guns are available. Semi-automatic paintball guns need their trigger pulled for every shot. However, depending on the terrain and skill level of the other players, you may be better off with the semi-automatic paintball gun.

Automatic Paintball GunsSemi-automatic paintball guns are often less expensive than fully automatic paintball guns. This is because semi-automatic paintball guns are not manufactured with the more expensive electronics that fully automatic paintball guns are manufactured with.

Be aware that each paintfall field have its own sets of rules. In some states, you cannot use a fully automatic paintball guns. If you have a fully automatic paintball gun and you still want to play in a state that has this restriction, check to see if your paintball gun comes with a tournament lock mode. This feature gives you the option or using the fully automatic paintball guns within the rules of a specific paintball field. If your automatic paintball gun does not come with the tournament lock mode feature, you can buy or rent a quality semi-automatic paintball gun. You'll find that while a semi-automatic paintball gun works a little differently than your fully automatic paintball gun, it is still just as much fun.
