those people who want to explore beautiful natural surroundings. Most archipelagos kayaking destinations are untouched and boast large numbers of
marine and wildlife. This article discusses a small number of these destinations.
Galapagos National Park
The world famous Galapagos Islands should be visited at least once of you want to be surrounded by stunning untouched nature and tropical
wildlife. The area boasts gleaming turquoise water, blue lagoons, deserted white sand beaches and enchanting forests.
The sun shines throughout the year and both the coastal areas and the waters are simply brimming with life. Giant tortoise, the Galapagos hawk
and sea lions live here and can usually be seen. The surrounding ocean is home to the Pacific green sea turtle, penguins, dolphins, whales and
white sharks, among other animals.
Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park
This archipelago can be found off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It is only possible to reach these islands by water and is
very popular among keen kayakers as it boasts a large array of wildlife. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to see Killer Whales, Seals,
porpoises, raccoons, deer, bears, eagles, otters and herons.
The islands are untouched and remain as undeveloped as they would have been hundreds of years ago. You will have to go through a travel agency
and book on a tour to visit this archipelago.
Sormlands Archipelago
This stunning archipelago kayaking destination can be found just outside Stockholm in Sweden. You will find lush forests, an array of European
wildlife and stunning scenery.
Mergui Archipelago
Found in southern Burma, this collection of over 800 islands is largely home to rainforests. You can take your kayak deep into the jungles as
well as passing through sea gypsy villages, remote islands beautiful coastlines. There have been reports of seeing wild elephants, flying foxes,
gibbons, monkeys, wild boar, turtles, armadillos, fruit bats, lizards and a collection of eagles, hornbills and parrots.
Dover Archipelago
This popular archipelao kayaking destination in East Dover (Nova Scotia's) sits in a protected harbor. It can be found between East Dover and
Peggy's Cove and boasts granite boulders which are a result of melting ice over 20,000 years ago.
You will find that a number of islands are reachable in your kayak and those that aren’t too rock make a nice spot for a rest. You will find
tropical plants dotting the islands including rare orchids, Pitcher plants, wild rhodendron and lichen. Osprey and Blue Herons along with Bald
eagles can also be seen.
Blackfish Archipelago
This archipelago can be found in British Columbia and is renowned for its daily whale sightings. However, you will also be able to spot
porpoises, seals, sea lions, dolphins and killer and humpback whales. You can enjoy the unique experience of night kayaking where you get to see
much of the area lit up by natural sources. It is a truly idyllic destination where wildlife abounds.
