While you are in Italy, another way in which you can save money is to take public transport instead of the mores expensive alternative, taxis. Another option for saving money while on holiday in Italy is to skip staying in a hotel altogether. There is the possibility of renting a house or apartment for a few days, which is especially good value if you are in a group. If you rent somewhere which has a kitchen, you will save a fortune on having to eat out all of the time and will therefore save a lot of money. Even if you do stay in a hotel, you could consider making yourself a few simple meals such as sandwiches or salads, the ingredients of which can be bought at all grocery stores.
