The Importance of Knowing the
Difference of Heartburn vs. Heart Attack
Having a heart
attack is said to be one of the most painful experiences one could
have - a twisting, clenching feeling sensation that is nearly
unbearable. However, many people mistake this sensation for
being a heart attack when really; they are only experiencing common
heartburn. Save for, other
people mistake a true heart attack for heartburn.
The symptoms of heartburn vs. those of a heart attack are quite
similar. However, knowing the difference between these two
occurrences is very important. It is so important; it might
even save your life.
Heartburn
vs. a Heart Attack Symptoms
Heartburn is a condition that is typically associated with a
painful and burning sensation felt in the abdomen or chest.
Unlike during a heart attack, heartburn frequently leads to
vomiting. Heartburn symptoms are usually caused by diet - it
usually affects people after they have devoured a large meal, or
after they have eaten spicy food. Heartburn can usually be
soothed with an antacid tablet.
Heart Attack
Symptoms
A heart attack is characterized by a pressure or tightness felt
in the chest. However, it is not only felt in the chest, but
may be felt in the face, neck, arms, and shoulders as well.
Sweating and shortness of breath often accompany a heart attack,
vs. heartburn where these symptoms do not occur. Generally,
the onset of a heart attack is usually brought on by exertion or
pressure.
Better Safe than
Sorry
Although the differences between the
symptoms of heartburn vs. those of a heart attack might seem
obvious, the truth is that many people confuse these
symptoms. This may be dangerous, because it could lead
to one of two situations.
The first situation that might occur in a manner that a lapse in
knowledge is an unnecessary visit to the hospital. If you
experience what you believe is a heart attack, when in fact you are
only laid low with heartburn, this could result in a vast waste of
time - both yours and your doctors.
However, the other situation that might occur if you cannot
distinguish the difference between heartburn vs. heart attack
symptoms is the possibility that you might ignore a heart attack;
consider that it is only heartburn. This very dangerous
situation could have deadly results.
Nearly every one of us who experience symptoms would somewhat be
safe than sorry, and if they are unable to tell the difference
between heartburn vs. heart attack symptoms, they go to the
hospital to be on the safe side. It is especially important
to air on the side of caution if you have a history of angina or
heart disease.
Doctor Knows
Best
If you experience symptoms, you should assess them to set what
sort of incident you are experiencing. If there is any chance
in any respect that you are experiencing a heart attack, then you
should talk to your doctor at once.
