In spite of how much societies advance, there
will never be a shortage of myths that surround common, normal
maladies like weight gain, acne and hair loss. The reason for this
is simple: people do not double check the facts when it comes to
listening to flippant explanations for things that may well be
highly complex. Save for, the explanation for a condition could be
simple as well.
The key to these complex or simple answers is
that they are accurate. If they are not accurate then what is their
value, then what is the value that can they give. In the matters of
hair loss, it is unfortunate that some may set to myths and
inaccurate information when there are a variety of legitimate
treatments that could be helpful. In order to shed somewhat light
on the subject, some of the more common myths will be exposed and
mentioned.
Myths Abound
Here is a common hair loss myth that is absurd on a number
of levels: wearing a hat excessively will lead to hair loss
because it will stop oxygen to the scalp that the hair
follicles need. This is so silly that it defies belief that
some will prescribe to it. First, a hat does not create a
vacancy where oxygen cannot reach the hair and secondly, if
you shaved any individual's head and poured varnish on the
scalp each day hair would grow. In short, wearing a hat does
not cause hair loss!
Neither does overly brushing your hair nor
will wearing certain hairstyles cause hair loss. These are common
myths that have circulated beside a host of other myths that are
pulled out of the air to explain, that which is unexplainable to
one who neither knows nor understands the concept of genetics.
Ultimately, hair loss is a genetic give and not the result of
common, everyday actions that yields pattern baldness.
Sources of Info
When it comes to separating fact from
fiction, it is important to seek a credible source as the root of
the information. As such, it is wise to seek sources that include a
record in medicine or biology as these sources base their info on
proven research and information as opposed to reasoning that bases
its origin in 15th mythology. Sadly, many people do not realize
that the origins derive from ancient mythology so the myths
perpetuate to the point they stay modern as opposed to fading
away.
