Eczema
is
essentially
a
skin
condition
and
no
matter
how
When
it
comes
to
skin
conditions,
no
matter
how
mild
it
is,
people
suffering
always
want
to
reduce
the
irritation
to
not
only
feel
more
comfortable
but
to
improve
appearance
and
therefore
confidence.
This
is
not
to
say
that
anyone
suffering
from
eczema
is
in
any
way
disfigured,
but
often
those
who
do
suffer
find
themselves
increasingly
self-conscious
about
their
appearance.
Skin
conditions,
especially
in
areas
on
show,
can
lead
to
other
(often
ignorant)
people
making
rash
judgments
based
on
inaccurate
information.
For
example,
rashes
are
often
thought
to
be
contagious,
whereas
eczema
isn’t
and
some
rashes
are
also
linked
to
bad
hygiene,
which
again
eczema
isn’t.
These
judgments
can
have
a
very
negative
impact
on
people’s
lives.
For
example,
people
can
get
turned
down
for
jobs
because
of
their
appearance
or
find
that
they
are
always
the
topic
of
conversation.
It
is
therefore
important
to
try
to
cure
the
condition
to
increase
self-confidence
and
improve
the
standard
of
living.
Eczema
can
be
a
simple
allergic
reaction
which
can
be
cleared
up
very
quickly.
It
can
also
be
the
result
of
stress
or
changes
in
the
weather.
In
most
cases
there
are
simple
cures
which
are
successful
over
time.
How
to
Cure
Eczema
You
will
find
that
a
number
of
high
street
stores
and
herbal
stores
stock
treatment
for
eczema.
It
is
however
adviseable
to
speak
with
a
specialist
or
your
doctor
before
trying
out
over-the-counter
cures
as
sometimes,
these
can
aggravate
the
condition
and
make
it
worse.
Once
you
have
spoken
to
your
doctor
and
confirmed
it
is
eczema,
you
may
want
to
find
out
the
cause
before
tackling
the
cure.
If
it
is
a
result
of
a
change
in
detergent,
changing
brands
could
ease
the
eczema
straight
away
or
if
it
is
a
result
of
stress,
this
may
have
to
be
dealt
with
first.
Once
you
have
established
the
cause
and
possible
solutions,
you
will
find
that
there
are
many
ways
to
combat
the
condition.
If
it
is
considered
to
be
a
relatively
sever
case,
you
will
find
that
cortisteroids
may
work.
This
will
help
to
reduce
the
inflammation
as
well
as
relieve
the
itch.
Antibiotics
can
also
be
taken
and
there
are
other
prescription
creams,
lotions
and
tablets
which
are
effective.
If
you
find
that
you
suddenly
develop
a
case
of
eczema,
there
is
no
need
to
panic
as
there
are
many
successful
treatments
available
which
work
quickly
and
effectively.
It
is
always
adviseable
to
speak
to
a
specialist
to
avoid
making
the
condition
any
worse.

The Skin Cure Diet: Heal Eczema from Inside Out
Amazon Price: $9.94 Used Price: $6.12 Average Customer Rating: 4.0 Review (rating: 3): This book focuses on the fungus aspect of eczema. Most natural health care practitioners will tell you that fungus is always present with eczema. Even the pediatrician we saw told us that fungus was always a problem when eczema was present. So she has a piece of the puzzle, the problem is it is only one piece to a sometimes extremely complex problem. It's like saying that people with eczema have a zinc deficiency. Well of course they do, their skin is blowing through zinc with every break out, but that doesn't necessarily mean a zinc deficiency is the cause, it can sometimes be a symptom.
She was able to greatly reduce her eczema with a strict yeast diet. I agree that a very strict yeast free diet can reduce the symptoms, but that is a very difficult way to live, because every time you cheat, you're back at square one.
She explains that she had to resort to topical steroids to finally get rid of the rash. I completely disagree with the use of topical steroids. This simply suppresses the illness, which will often then manifest in a deeper condition, the most frequent which is asthma.
Dr. Bernard Jensen in his classic work Chemistry of Man (Man Series, Second Edition) had numerous cases of eczema clear up simply by switching from cow's milk to goat's milk. I've personally seen a case of childhood eczema that was so severe the child had difficulty walking, completely clear up simply by discontinuing cow's milk. So I would start there.
We eventually found our cure through homeopathy. While we consulted with a professional homeopath, she just wasn't able to see the case clearly enough. Homeopathy is different than traditional medicine because they don't always use the same remedy for the same condition. It is highly personalized, and you have to find the exact match to your symptoms, overall health, and personality.
I eventually ended up enrolling in Homeopathic school myself, and through a series of events was led to the book "The Homeopathic Treatment of Eczema" by Robin Logan. It is in print, but for some reason is not currently available on Amazon. In it he lists 42 different possible remedies for eczema; the trick is to find the best match for your case. I had to read the book in its entirety two times before I figured out which was the best remedy for my son. For us the guiding symptoms were that it was significantly worse on the right side, he's aggressive, bites, kicks, pulls hair, and has red streaks after scratching. It sounds odd I know. But it pointed me to the right remedy.
So she has a part of the problem that can help you minimize outbreaks until you find the correct remedy. It just wasn't the complete answer for us.
