In
days
gone
by,
Christmas
was
a
time
for
turkey,
log
fires
and
pine
trees.
Today,
more
often
than
not,
the
only
hint
of
pine
is
through
scented
candles
or
pine
furniture.
That
being
said
however,
things
are
moving
forward
and
more
and
more
modern
devices
are
coming
out
on
the
market
every
year.
Gone
are
the
days
of
crude
fake
trees
because
every
year,
artificial
trees
are
becoming
more
and
more
realistic.
They
are
no
longer
stiff,
awkward
to
set
up
and
boring,
but
are
easy
to
store
away,
come
already
decorated
and
can
remain
on
display
for
as
long
as
you
like.
Is
Artificial
Better
than
Natural?
As
the
years
go
on,
artificial
trees
are
gaining
in
popularity
and
this
is
leaving
‘real’
trees
out
in
the
cold.
The
fake
trees
do
not
make
a
mess,
are
safe
for
the
entire
family
(without
being
a
fire
hazard)
and
can
be
used
over
and
over
again
so
are
therefore
value
for
money.
Artificial
Trees
May
Be
More
Cost
Effective,
But
They
Don’t
Suit
Everyone
If
part
of
your
family
Christmas
is
to
go
in
search
of
that
perfect
pine
tree
and
you
love
your
house
smelling
of
fresh
pine,
then
artificial
trees
may
not
be
right
for
you.
Real
life
Christmas
trees
are
a
major
part
of
some
people’s
festive
season
and
therefore
artificial
ones
will
never
live
up
to
your
expectations.
It
is
impossible
to
recreate
the
same
emotions
in
a
store
as
it
is
hunting
down
that
perfect
pine!
Compromising
is
a
Good
Way
to
Meet
Everybody’s
Tastes
and
Preferences
If
some
of
your
family
is
adamant
about
having
a
real
tree,
but
you’d
prefer
a
simpler
artificial
Christmas
tree,
there
are
compromises
which
can
be
made
so
that
everyone
is
happy.
If
your
house
is
big
enough,
you
could
consider
having
a
natural
pine
tree
and
an
artificial
one
in
different
rooms.
Everyone
will
be
pleased
and
you
can
use
it
as
an
experiment
to
see
which
works
best
–
especially
if
it
is
your
first
year
using
an
artificial
tree.
You
can
have
a
small
pine
tree
in
the
family
room
and
still
place
all
of
the
presents
under
it
whereas
you
could
tryout
the
artificial
one
in
the
kitchen
or
hallway
as
it
won’t
dry
out
and
isn’t
a
fire
hazard.
You
can
get
very
realistic
artificial
trees
if
you
look
hard
enough
and
these
can
be
used
year
after
year
without
being
damaged
in
any
way.
You
can
top
up
on
decorations
without
the
extra
expense
of
buying
a
new
tree
each
time.
