Plan Ahead and Get into the Christmas Spirit Early

 
 

It may be a bit early to start bringing out the trees, decorations and huge feasts, but there is no harm in planning early, because Christmas isn’t actually that long away. With early planning, you can actually sit back and enjoy the holiday season without rushing all over the place trying to pick up last minute bargains. Your ‘to-do’ list will be a lot less stressful come December if you start to plan now.

Have a Spring (or Fall) Clean

Who said that having a good clear out and clean up should only happen in the spring? Fall is another good time to get the rubber gloves on and get down on your hands and knees and start scrubbing. It’s also an ideal time to polish all the carpets, the silver and those places that always get passed over. It will create a lovely ambience for hose decorations and lights.  It’s also a good idea to have a clear out of your wardrobes and donate a few items to charity – there’s never a better time to donate than Christmas time.

Make an Inventory List

Planning ahead will undoubtedly ease your Christmas stress and make sure that your Christmas is as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Even though you aren’t planning to put the decorations up for a few weeks yet, it is a good time to sit and make an inventory list of all of your decorations so that you can work out if there’s anything you need to buy or make. Some of your fairy lights may have stopped working or some of your ornaments may be damaged. Whatever the problem, now is the time to go through everything to ensure that all of your decorations are in working order for when it really matters – Christmas day.  If you know what you need, you can get to the stores before the rush of last minute shoppers take all of the supplies.

Shop, Shop and Away

There is often nothing worse than a crowded shopping mall when you are in desperate need to complete your Christmas shopping. Make a list as soon as possible and get as many presents out of the way as you can. This will prevent a lot of stress later on. Internet shopping is the ideal way to get a lot of gifts. You can do it from home or work and don’t need to face the barrage of people that you’ll find at the malls.
