What You Need
To Know About Cholesterol and Your Health
Many Americans will be sad to know that
genetics is a key factor in determining one's susceptibility in
developing high cholesterol levels which increases the
likelihood of cardiovascular disease or heart attacks. You may
feel like surrendering when you discover that your cholesterol
levels are very high. But doctors feel that, with vigilance and
discipline, it is possible to at least partially reverse these
negative effects.
Low Density Lipoprotein is the scientific term
for the bad cholesterol that you've heard mentioned so
frequently. The good type can turn to be bad if it is sediment
and oxidized, and then it can lead to conditions like
atherosclerosis. The LDL level over 160mg indicates a high
level of harmful cholesterol. High density lipoprotein (HDL on
the other hand), is considered to be good cholesterol. It helps
one-fourth to one-third of blood cholesterol to be carried from
the arteries to the liver by HDL. To reduce your chances of
developing heart disease, it's recommended by physicians to
have over 40mg of HDL.
As you grow older, besides cholesterol, you
should also be watching high triglycerides, which is the
chemical state of fat calories and is either transformed
into energy or is stored in the body for later use. While
high triglycerides may lead to diabetes, heart disease,
and strokes, there are no obvious symptoms early on. Most
doctors suggest that you have a checkup frequently to
detect metabolic oddities early.
Were you aware that your cholesterol can
actually be lowered by certain foods? One of these magical
foods would be those with high fiber content, such as cereals.
Cholester-Off and other supplements provide the sterol also
found in vegetables, whole grains, and olive oil; this will
help your body remove bad cholesterol as fast as you consume
it.

It was like eating at a smorgasboard and ending up feeling unsatified not knowing what you had tasted.
I was anticipating some direct information such as

I am giving my copy to my Dr. to digest and perhaps he can in turn give me the A & B information.
